PSIP is a therapeutic modality combining legal psychedelic-type prescription medicines with a somatic, relational, and autonomic nervous system-based therapy protocol in order to resolve trauma. While talk therapy can support the resolution of stress events, most trauma is stored unconsciously in the nervous system and is largely not accessible through our conscious minds.
The use of psychedelics in Australia outside of legal clinical settings is well established. Integration services are offered from a harm reduction perspective only. While not promoting or supporting the use of psychedelics outside of the legal clinical frameworks, many people who have partaken in psychedelic use do not have sufficient or effective support in integrating/processing the experience.
